GDP per capita of countries and dependences in East Asia
East Asia is the home of 1.7 billion inhabitants living in the area of 11,840,000 sq. km. East Asia includes 8 countries and dependences as follows: China, Japan, Mongolia, North Korea, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.
East Asia is the most developed region of Asia and is also one of the most important economic, cultural, technical and financial centers of the world. In 2020, nominal GDP of the region reaches 23 trillion USD, being the world’s largest economical region.
Countries in the region have high incomes, except Mongolia and North Korea. East Asia has some of the world's largest and most prosperous economies: Mainland China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. By 2021, China, with more than 1.4 billion people, is already the world's high-income country.
